Thanks everyone who has responded.
After a visit to A&E I have no broken bones just bruising.

My bike is booked into my local BMW dealer on Thursday for damage assessment and cost estimate so looking at the parts prices sent in by talh it looks like Iíll be claiming on my insurance.

Grizzlie- thanks for the info on the Boots dressing , the hospital fixed me up for now.
The lower crash bars I got fitted are BMW own brand and are very strong.

Thanks Matty , my elbow is sore and the top of my arm and thumb are painful so Iíll probably go to A&E today. As for the damage itíll have to go through insurance sadly.

I went for a ride out on my own earlier this afternoon to a bike shop in Leeds but with 1/2 hour   to go I was filtering on a B road when a transit van did a right turn just as I was passing him at around 20mph. The traffic was queuing up hence why I was filtering and despite having a go pro on I canít really see if the van was indicating right due to the bright sunlight. Iím not trying to blame anyone anyway as these things happen.

As far as I can see the damage isnít too bad and could have been much worse, the engine bars almost definitely saved my bike from serious damage especially the fairing.  Here are pics of the damage, in fact my elbow came off worse despite wearing a decent leather bikers jacket. 😫

The left side BMW badge is fairly scraped so Iíll need a new one, has anyone replaced theirs and if so how much was it and is it easy to swap?

The clutch lever snapped off but I was still able to use it and ride home, it was like using a shorty lever !

Hi Fill ya boots,

Did you get the service done and if so which dealer how much was it ?

Iíve just hit the 7k in a year and my service was due in May but couldnít get it in due to COVID-19.

Good day dirtspin and welcome.

Iíve been fortunate to visit OZ 4 times which was enough to make it my favourite country and Iíve travelled more than most.
Your GSA and those roads are beyond awesome, I wish I was down there.

Iím currently watching the tv series Aussie Gold Diggers and the terrain in the outback is unbelievable.

Ride safe 🇦🇺  🦘

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to get the front engine area clean ?

After washing my one year old 850 it drys and leaves a white film over various parts of the engine, see picture.
