I have a standard seat In great condition. I just replaced it with a Sargent seat. I’m in Canada, so shipping shouldn’t be a huge deal. Let me know if you’re interested, and we can work something out.

Ah, ok thanks.  I'm quite happy with my 850 so far, but initially was feeling as though a 1250 might have been a better move.  However, now that I'm starting to get a bit more comfortable taking it off pavement, I've began to have second thoughts of getting anything much bigger.

I installed them myself.  The instructions are pretty good and I found it to be pretty straightforward.  Took me more or less an hour, IIRC.

Happy to join this group. Just picked up my new F850GS today, and had a blast riding it for a couple hours this evening. This is the first bike I’ve owned in over 30 years!!
