Top of your list.  Decent, protective riding clothing.

Battery - 12.1 to 12.4 volts is low. Try charging it using a battery charger and see if the voltage improves. However it could be a defective battery.
If you only ride at weekends, that may be causing the drop in voltage.

Thanks folks. Part number identified and clips ordered.  :028:
Not from BMW I hope !
They are a standard M6 spire nut  [ some call them chimney clips] available at most car part stores.
Or in my garage, I would have sent you one.

Maintenance and Servicing / Re: Coolant Recovery tank issue

Do you mean the expanson tank for overfull ? Over the maximum mark.
If so it sounds like the coolant has expanded into the tank then failed to drain back into the radiator.
Could be a faulty cap, could be a partial blockage of the hose connecting radiator to expansion tank.

My 2019 also had a leak behind the radiator. My dealer also fixed it under warranty.

My question is, is this just an issue with 2019, or has it happened with the '20s or '21s?
I have a late 2019 850, never had a problem with the radiator.

You'll need 8mm by 35mm bolts to replace those. I happened to have four socket headed bolts the right size in my workshop box of bits.

Looking at the photograph, it could be for the chain cover on right hand drive models  :008:

I can thoroughly recommend Sycamore if you have not used them yet. People travel quite a way down the A1 for them, and I know some prefer them to Lind in Norwich.

Mines as sweet as a nut. Bike was bought with 1k miles on the clock and its now got 4+ - been really smooth from the outset.
However, I know that they do vary because the demo bike I borrowed for half a day before I bought this was nowhere near as smooth.
Ditto mine, I can changed down to all gears including 1st using the quickshift.
It does get better with age/mileage as mine was not perfect from new.
The rider does have to learn how to get the best, the gear change needs to be at higher revs than you might use when changing gear manually, and importantly, on down changes the throttle must be closed right to the stop.
Having said that, I believe it is adjustable both mechanically and in the electronics.

Purds, did you get yours from Sycamore ? maybe it's a dealer thing as well.

The mileage estimated to tank empty.
On my 850, everytime my warning has come on, it has been at 50-55 miles left. So 80-90km
