About $40 if you do it yourself....

Wyn.....Took my 2019 F850GS to Jacksonville, Florida BMW dealer for the 6K mile service this past July. It was the 6K service plus a brake fluid flush. The dealer said a brake fluid flush was required due to the bike being almost 2 years old.
Total cost $391.
Ridiculous!!
Now I am scared what the 12K mile service will be.

Thanks Dave. I figured around that. I remember the service guy where I purchased my bike telling me the 24K is the big one.
I have a former Ducati dealership here in Ocala that just does service work now. They service the Ocala PD's BMW's.
I called them back when I first bought my bike. Yes, they service all BMW's. I'll let you know how much.

The service schedule states [ in the UK] for the first time after one year, then every two years. It is not a mileage related item, but an age one. In the UK the 6000 cost me £212, so about $280.

doebag..... I assume you are speaking of the brake fluid flush. You are 100% correct. I just check my service schedule (North America) and it states a brake fluid flush required the first time after one year, then every two years. It is not a mileage related item, but an age one. So the UK and US are the same. Thanks.

EuroCycles of Daytona quoted me (ballpark) around $400.00. Seems a bit excessive for oil and filter and check or replace air filter.
I like Sno at $40.00 do it myself. Easy peasy.

A little more than $40 for the first one, since you need to buy the canbus dongle and software to reset the oil light. Totally worth it.

If you buy all the BMW approved 'stuff' yourself, you would be looking at a minimum of 130 to 200 bucks in component cost. Add to it, tech time is approximately 125 an hour? Dealers typically bill a minimum of 1 hour of time even if the service time was .5 hour or less.
300-400 USD, it's spendy no doubt but still less than I'm quoted. I've been quoted around 600-1000 dollars for the 850, i'm fully warrantied - these are factory warranty service intervals. It's my opinion the warranties I paid for should cover warranty service intervals.
I was told a minimum of 1300 USD for a K1600. It had a bad coil. They claim they had to keep it there for a minimum of 3 days and were going to bill me for the shop time over those number of days, for reasons that made no sense to me, so I left in disgust and did the service myself. It took me a long time, but I knew nothing, I saved myself about 2k dollars in costs and learned a lot along the way.
I regret none of it!
An independent shop I like, the time it takes them to swap rubber and balance is about 15 minutes. I bring the wheels & rubber to them to save us both money and time, I mount it and tension everything myself.. They charge me a fee of about 60-80 bucks for that, don't give me any crap for bringing my own materials, I'm Ok with that!

I just bought supplies from BMW to do the service myself
3l of oil - $55.14
Oil filter - $18.38
Drain plug washer - $1.86
Brake fluid - $4.75
$83.65 total, no doubt I could have reduced that by getting supplies elsewhere but figured I'd use BMW stuff for first service.
