I watched a video the other day where the presenter stated that it was possible to replace the stock screen and screen mount on an F850GS Sport with the screen and mount from the F850GS Adventure. Doing this gives you a taller screen and the ability to adjust the screen on the F850GS Sport the same way you can with the F850GS Adventure.

Has anyone tried this, did it work and do you know that part numbers of the mount and screen please?

Here's the source for my question:

It’s possible but very expensive. The mounting mechanism alone is > 200 and the OEM tall screens are eye-wateringly expensive. I went with the Madstad screen mount and an MRA Vario screen, although I might look for an even taller screen as I am still getting buffeting.

Thanks Matty589 - that's good to know. Having ridden the F850GS with the standard screen it would be one of the first changes I would make and I'm very happy to hear what everyone else prefers.

I have done this and I really recommend it. Yes it is around 450 in Belgium. But you can adjust the screen. I use the shorter screen in summer and the GSA screen in winter. I've got no buffeting but a nice clean flow at the low position and at the high position I have a nice bubble of calm air.
I'm 1.78m  32inch trouser length.

BMW have updated some of the specs for the F750GS and F850 GS model year 2021.  The F850GS (non-adventure) MY 2021 will now come with the adjustable screen mechanism as standard (at least here in Germany), so you would only need to buy the higher touring screen to realise your goal.

That's interesting. Does that mean that any F850GS purchased now will, you think, come with an adjustable screen?

You will have to ask your dealer. Is he making you an offer for a MY2020 which is already standing in his showroom/available shortly from stock or is it an offer for a MY2021 which has yet to be built?

From what I can see this is yet to be built as it carries an ETA of mid to late October. This is still head and shoulders over Triumph who expect you to wait until next March for a new machine. It's an "A LA Carte" selection of features rather than a bunch of feature packs so I'm guessing it will have to be built. It's certainly not available in the showroom.

I've done it the other way round. I've swapped my adjustable 850GSA screen for a Wunderlich Marathon screen that I used to have on my previous 750GS, and it fitted the GSA perfectly. As the adjustable mechanism is also part of the bike it meant that I could adjust the Wunderlich screen too. But I ended up swapping it back to the standard screen in the end (the standard screen still provides less turbulence and better weather protection around the rider).
