There's three liters of oil (at most $20.00 a liter), a filter for $20.00, a drain plug washer for $2.00 and shop supplies...for say $12.00.  This adds up to  $94.00 or so.  It takes one to one and a half hours to complete.  So, some dealers must be charging $200.00 an hour labor.  A rip when some pay $200.00 and others $400.00 for same service. :013:

The shop I purchased the bike at in Houston, TX wants $448 to do it, the shop nearest me in New Orleans, LA told me between $400-$500. Cheapest price I found was in the Woodlands, north of Houston, Tx at about $300. Thats a 4hr drive for me. Iím thinking Iíll just spend a bit more money and buy myself a GS-911 and a pin tool for the steering head bearing and do the service myself. Iím mechanically inclined, I was just trying to let a dealer do the first run in service.

Wow - that's expensive! It was £100 for my running in service, including tensioning the chain. Don't dealers realise that being stung means you don't go back! Ever!
