Puig 3179W
« on: February 16, 2020, 05:16:23 PM »
Hi,
I just installed new windscreen from Puig. I'm 186 cm (6,1 ft) tall and there is a huge difference.
At the pictures windscreen is in the highest possible position .

Hey,

Does this help with the noise also? Or it only blocks the wind pressure but is still loud in the helmet?

Thanks

Hi sebsek

Nice, Thank you for the feedback.  I do agree the adjustability will be useful in the summer.

I hope that someone with the Non-Adventure 850GS can gives some feedback on this windscreen.

Hi,
can you confirm that the fixings for this screen are the same as the shorter screen included on the F850GSA which has the shorter OEM screen and I believe closer together fixing screws? Or am I wrong and they are the same as the standard bike screen fixings? I'm talking about the vertical distance between the top and bottom screws.

Puig fixings are the same as the standard bike screen fixings. You only have to bend a little bit Puig windscreen :)
At the beginning I also thought that it's not suitable but after a while I find out that will be fine.

Screen arrived yesterday and looks like a very high quality item!
Will fit it when the bike is back from the dealer (Optimate charger issue, makes the frame live when charging but dreamer can't figure out how to do a voltage test correctly so might have to show them!)

Welp, I fitted the screen and went for a 5 mile ride. What a difference! There's zero noise any more. None. I could feasibly ride without ear plugs no problem. The top of the screen is at its highest level on the sliders but the adjuster on the bike is at its lowest and all the wind is going above my head. I'm 5'11" with a Rallye seat that's had a couple of inches removed from it.
This screen has transformed the riding experience for me!

That sounds like a good result for the GSA,
Unfortunately mine is a GS so I'll have to stick with my Givi Airflow for now.
