ABS/TC light ?
« on: February 15, 2020, 12:07:36 PM »
New member here, just sold my 2016 GS800 and bought a new GS850. Long story short, bought bike in Houston, I don't ride in Houston, lol. So I took my trade by trailer and picked this one up on the trailer, since it was raining i didn't even test ride, wish I had! Anyway the ABS/TC flashes all the time, as it does till you roll off but never stops. Before I haul this back to shop,  am I missing something? Maybe someone playing with bike on the sales floor has it in a ride mode that is causing this? When I called the shop he says if light is not staying on solid it is safe to ride. This bike is way different than my 800. Thanks

Page 36 of your hand book details the ABS/ATC warning lights meanings.

If it aint broke, keep fixing it until it is!

Yes sir, I've read that, states it hasn't completed the check.  I was hoping I was doing something wrong to save a trip to the dealer, 1 and half hours away. I'm thinking it's something simple,  hope!  Thanks

In doing more research, my cruise doesn't work either and I see these 2 functions are tied together. More research is needed.

One quick thought. Is the endure pro plug installed and that programme selected?

Are your wheel encoder rings spaced properly?

Someone somewhere said their front wheel was backwards which would cause all of those failures.

Thank you, thank you. That was it. Removed and installed correctly, all good. Now to see if dealer installed or shipped that way. Hub clearly marked.

Either way that dealer messed up.

Good thing you didn't get hurt!
