A different tank top panel
« on: June 09, 2019, 08:25:42 PM »
Anyone planning on or already gone to a new paint or design scheme on the tank top panel?  I've got a 750 in white, thinking perhaps red for the black panel...something to match 750 graphic and rear of seat.  The black doesn't do much for me. May be some removal plasti-dip red to see what it would look like?

I have a big roll of Carbon Fiber vinyl... If my center panel ever gets scuffed I will use that to wrap the panel.
I don't know where we are... but I have been lost here before...

Speaking of the tank panel, have either of you removed it ? I tried to get mine off to run a cable, but could’nt free it from around the fuel filler neck. Just seemed like I had overlooked something, but could’nt work out what it could be.

Looks like two screws at the front near the steering neck and two at the rear under the seat...
There are some sort of clips around the fuel fill cap.

Yes I got those ok, but it seemed hung up around the filler neck. Maybe I just need to use a bit more ‘force’
It seemed to be lifting part of the inside of the filler neck as i was pulling up on it. I guess i’ll just have to revisit it sometime.

Hi Brodixv8 - I've done likewise with mine so I can fit a double USB cable. You just need to use a bit of force around the filter neck and it'll unclip without issue. Hope that helps 👍🏻
