    For some time I have wanted to rent a bike in SA and travel the mountain passes in the Cape and get into the Cederberg, but I would be by myself and I worry about security. I fear it may never come to pass.

    I did a solo 3 month trip around Southern Africa (RSA/Namb/Bot) a few years ago on a rented 1200 GS. "Security" is not any more of an issue than anywhere else.
