I have a 2020 F750GS and there has been an intermittent cruise control problem since new. The issue remains unresolved, despite being to the dealership on several occasions and for extended periods of time. The CC does various things - sometimes it won't activate, sometimes it will activate and then deactivate almost immediately. When it doesn't activate, after repeated attempts, I turn it off and back on and the symbol sometimes takes up to a minute to appear. The scary thing is that sometimes it will self activate if the unit is switched on. BMW are saying user error, despite the fact that I have another bike with the same CC and have been using it for 6 years with no problems. Love to hear from anyone with similar issues.

I find sometimes after riding off road in very dusty conditions my cc won’t switch on. Cleaning the sensor usually corrects it. And of course the cc does not work when you are in Enduro mode.

If there is much filth on your rear break sensor, then it is possible that your CC will not work or stuff like you have described might happen. Also one of the sensors might be malfunctioning...
    Speaking from own experience.
