    Thanks duncanmacster,

In the Netherlands it is almost impossible for off-road, but that is my preference. I have a ride in May to go to Scandinavia, 4500 km nonstop off-road. How about you?

4,500kms off-road? Is that even possible? If so, I may have to ship my bike. (I have a couple of old friends in Oslo....). Please be sure to post something about such a trip here.

I prefer off-road too, and we are rather spoiled here in Australia. I have a group of friends and we try to do a few trips a year, from a couple of nights to about a week or so. We all have families to consider  :002:

Should you be interested, I have recorded some of my trips at www.mactrax.com.au

Later this year I am visiting Bayern. While my wife is playing with her grandchildren, I might rent a motorcycle for a few days. Again, not much dirt in Germany, but the winding roads on the Austrian border are quite something!

Yes, I think the T.E.T. already counts about 40,000 km of tracks, how much of this is actually off-road I don't know. Oh that's really great, especially with friends, don't you run into the problem that people are not on the same page? For example driving style, or that one is more in a hurry than the other? A buddy of mine has an 800GS, and we were not quite on the same page. (Sleeps for 10 hours, if he saw a small hill immediately get off and start pushing a 500pounds motorcycle.)

Been to Sweden 2 years ago. So thats why i want to go back in a hurry ;) Super nice people, great views, wild camping.

Oh cool I'll check out your site.
Not very much no, but I hear great stories about the Black Forest. I think it is even in the top 10 most beautiful Motorcycle routes in Europe.

The level of ability in my group varies from expert to rather cautious, but we are friends first and foremost, so we are considerate and encouraging of each other. Very fortunate we are.
