    Flat battery.

Hi. I'm new to this forum and newly returned to biking. I have a 750gs. If I leave it for about 2 weeks without starting it. The battery is dead. Is this normal or is the battery on the way out? If this is the case is the battery covered under warranty? My previous bike was a Ktm Duke which only had a 2 year warranty and the battery wasn't even covered under warranty. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tam

How old is the bike - and does it have a Tracker and/or alarm fitted?

The bike was first registered July 2019. There's no alarm or tracker so I'm thinking the battery shouldn't go flat in a couple of weeks. But am I wrong?

Think it must be. Was looking in the handbook and it doesn't say that the battery isn't covered under warranty so will give the dealer a phone in the new year. Thanks Tam

Iíd be amazed if theyíll cover the battery in a 2.5 year old bike, even if it has a 3 year warranty

Ye. Not hopeful. If they say no I'll fit one myself and save ££. Gonna try multimeter on first to see how much drain with everything switched off

I guess also worth checking whether the bike is actually charging it. Iím no auto-electrician but my guess would be battery.

Ye. Its charging okay. When the weather was better and I was getting out once or twice a week there was no problem. So will see what the dealer says.

Mine goes flat in about 3 weeks. It does however have a tracker. Not sure whether it has done it from new because it was ridden almost daily. Now I donít ride so much I walked into the garage one day, pressed the button, idiot lights but no TFT, battery was almost completely flat. Now itís kept on a trickle charger when not riding. Bike is just under 2.5 years old so will probably fit a new battery next winter.
