Denali Sound Bomb one beep!
« on: July 31, 2021, 08:31:31 AM »
Hiya
I fitted the above horn to my GSA 850 as per the wiring instructions that came with it using a new Canbus lead.
The old horn is still fitted but disconnected.
The problem I have is that when I use the horn it will only beep once for a very short time (it won't do a prolonged beep, if that makes sense).
I have seen posts that say it should be wired to the old horn but have no idea how to do this and can't find any information.
All ideas gratefully appreciated.

Mark

My denali soundbomb mini works fine and was a straight swap with the supplied connector lead.

It is possible that yours is drawing too many amps and the canbus is shutting the supply down [ there is no fuse to blow]

Reconect the old horn to confirm this, but I suspect that could be your problem

Thanks for the reply.
Any ideas how I can overcome this issue?
I think it looks like I will have to buy the sound bomb mini
Cheers

The CAN-bus cannot shut anything down. Chassis electrics are controlled by the ZFE.

You could use the current horn feed to operate a relay, and wire the horn direct from the battery +ve and -ve.

You are correct, but like many I suspect, I use 'canbus' as short hand for modern unfused electrics.

The correct term "ZFE" is shorter!
