Radiator guard install

Hi, been lurker since last year & was wondering if anyone has removed the stock radiator guard for the adventure model. Bought an aftermarket guard that needs to be attached to the stock 1s but to date, haven't figured out the way to do it. Tried removing all the bolts attached to it but the darn thing refuses to be dislodge..
