I know we're all different, and some like to problem solve, but aren't you re-inventing the wheel.?
The aftermarket mounts have all been R&D'd before going to market and the cost is not IMO over the top.
But as I said, each to their own. Good luck with the tinkering/farkeling.

Given your long thread about farkles OP, are you sure it’s not that you’ve already spent too much to justify another addition?
If you want to go cheap do as I did and wait for a used Givi mount to pop up. I got mine for £28 IIRC. Make sure you get the GSA version as they’re different.

Yeah, I realized that early on, but thanks for the reminder.
It's not about how much I have already spent, it's about whether I think the product justifies the asking price. It a personal perspective thing, but some of these brackets are coming out at around 170 dollars, even though it's just aluminium tubing and sheet.
I could respond with a justification that was long and detailed and ultimately boring. But it would be bound to rub someone up the wrong way and I have no desire to get into a slaging match over such a simple question.
As I say, it's a personal perspective, we all have them and are equally entitled to them.

Easy tiger! I happen to think that £90 for the emergency service part is daylight robbery, hence suggesting to look out for a used Givi mount as they’re nicely made, fit well and even new are much cheaper. I guess tongue in cheek didn’t come across...

Actually, the BMW bracket doesn't cost that much. I paid equivalent of £65 to the dealer.
I realize we live in different countries, but at least its worth checking before completely rejecting the idea

I agree, but aren't a lot of aftermarket accessories ? But £90 on a £10,000 bike is about 4 tanks of petrol in the UK. It is all down to ones perspective.
SnoDrtRider built his for $20, but that's no good to me if I had to buy a welder.

I installed a GIVI bracket (Givi FB5134) on my 2020 F850GSA.
I got it from
https://www.carpimoto.com/en-MU/Bike_BMW_F-850-GS-Adventure/Specific/Brand_Givi/WindShields/Screen-Accessories/51082_FB5134-Givi-FB5134-Smartphone-.htm
and paid ~$54 USD shipped and received it about 7 days after ordering back in November.
It was a straight forward install and works great. SnoDrtRiders is legit, I gotta learn how to weld this year

Can anyone recommend a good GPS bracket of kind I am looking for.
I went with the GIVI as well... Got it from here:
