Rear brake lever!
« on: January 11, 2021, 03:25:36 PM »
Hola sorry if this topic has already been covered, but when I went offroad last summer I found the rear brake lever was way too low when standing and I even find it low for my normal riding style. I know there are aftermarket options but I prefer to "bush mechanic" it (Aussie style).

Does anyone know how to raise it without paying to do it? I have read of plenty of others who have the same problem but haven't found a solution.

Cheers..

I also found the brake too low and not big enough so I brought one of these - easy to fit and about 25euros

I have had a look to do the same thing but unfortunately it's an non adjustable system. There is some adjustment to adjust the amount of free play at the slave cilinder and you could pack the landing that works the micro switch under the footrest cover which will make it lower only and then not by much.
If you were game you could cut and re-weld it at the height you wanted, many make up some type of sliding scale system. I'd say it's easier to go with what the others have suggested

With the same problem bugging me every time I used the rear brake, I bought an extender on Amazon UK for only 5.80 here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tuneway-Enlarge-Extension-Extender-F750Gs/dp/B085RZ3ZKD

Works perfectly. The big surprise was that the fitting and screw were both stainless steel!

Cheers amigos I bought the same extender from Aliexpress but was disappointed it doesn't increase height, I'm thinking I'll buy some longer screws and construct a block of something to raise it ie raise it 1-2cm.

I just installed the lowered foot pegs from Touratech - drops the peg down to the right height for the brake pedal.

Is it just me or others? Often enough I scrape my toes. Lowered foot pegs would never be a option for me
