Cheap way to make seat more comfortable.

So the standard seat is not comfortable, your options are BMW comfort seat or other after market options, which can cost 100's right. I spent 12 months riding from the U.S. to Argentina so I know very personally how important seat comfort is. I'm also a cheap bugger, so I have a solution.

First I bought a mesh seat cover from Aliexpress, the Chinese el-cheapo site, for 16 Euros, and despite the price its actually really cool, fits well but actually doesn't provide much padding. Thus I bought a cheap yoga mat of dense 20mm foam (for 10 euro) and cut 2 portions, one for the rider and one for passenger seat shape (I actually cut 2 each but found 2 layers weren't necessary, though I'm keeping them for longer rides).

It might sound stupid but it works a treat and cost peanuts (and I can adjust comfort by adding a layer or removing for enduro), also if it get damaged or shat on by birds etc, it's very cheap and easy to replace.

Try it before you blow cash on something maybe not that necessary, I know custom seats are great, but there are more important things to spend money on... like crash bars etc etc

Hey LCF yes I put it under, forgot to mention that. Hope you're digging summer there, I'm an Aussie and my parents live in Sunshine coast, love it there, very jealous right now cos it's freezing in France and we're in lockdown, wish I was there on a beach or riding, also would love a Beefys pie, preferably the curry!! Hey also, make sure you get a dense 2cm foam not the thin yoga mat (I bought mine at Decathlon here), could also be camping mat etc. But should be dense ie thick not the light style foam.

this is a good idea :) I was just thinking to buy from aliexpress  a gel and rebuilded the seat, but i do not have a stapler.
